Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Three Setters in a landscape by William Webb for USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,468.93). This price was achieved in the auction The British Interior: English Furniture, Paintings, at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Favorite Hunters of Richard William Penn, 1st Earl Howe (1796-1870), with Gopsall Hall, Leicestershire in the background in October 2011 with an auction result of USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,624.51).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The British Interior: English Furniture, Paintings, bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Webb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Favorite Hunters of Richard William Penn, 1st Earl Howe (1796-1870), with Gopsall Hall, Leicestershire in the background im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 98.500,00 (€ 70.624,51).
