In May 2014 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy/Bamboo and Rock by Xie Lansheng. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 27,500.00 (€ 2,600.81), 53% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Xie Lansheng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscapes in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy/Bamboo and Rock von Xie Lansheng zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 27.500,00 (€ 2.600,81) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xie Lansheng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscapes im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85).
