This artwork by Xing Baozhuang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2005. In the FINE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CHINESE PAINTINGS II auction, the work Drinking Beside The River sold for HKD 120,000.00 (€ 13,129.77) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. This high result makes Drinking Beside The River the most expensive artwork by Xing Baozhuang that we have observed at auctions so far.
