Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1828 by Yashima Gakutei was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 15,300.00 (€ 13,215.86). Admittedly, works by Yashima Gakutei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Giant black carp in waterweeds in September last year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1828 von Yashima Gakutei im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 15.300,00 (€ 13.215,86) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yashima Gakutei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Giant black carp in waterweeds im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65).
