Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale, which included the work A Flower by Yayoi Kusama. It changed hands for a price of HKD 8,820,000.00 (€ 1,047,123.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 5,000,000.00 – 9,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Flower von Yayoi Kusama zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 8.820.000,00 (€ 1.047.123,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 5.000.000,00 – 9.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
