Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction 21st Century Evening Sale, which included the work Pumpkin by Yayoi Kusama. The price achieved of USD 4,890,000.00 (€ 4,589,825.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yayoi Kusama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pumpkin von Yayoi Kusama zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.890.000,00 (€ 4.589.825,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
