Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Water Reflections by Ye Jianqing was worth HKD 456,000.00 (€ 42,695.75) to a buyer in April 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Contemporary Art II at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ye Jianqing; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Willow Pond sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of HKD 576,000.00 (€ 54,846.95).

Die Arbeit Water Reflections von Ye Jianqing war einem Käufer im April 2007 HKD 456.000,00 (€ 42.695,75) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Art II bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ye Jianqing; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Willow Pond im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 576.000,00 (€ 54.846,95).
