Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Untitled (Smile-ism No.8) by Yue Minjun was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in December 2021. The price achieved of HKD 19,125.00 (€ 2,166.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 15,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yue Minjun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Execution in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 4,211,262.96).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Untitled (Smile-ism No.8) von Yue Minjun kam im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 19.125,00 (€ 2.166,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yue Minjun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Execution im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 4.211.262,96).
