Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lungile Cleo Dladla, KwaThema Community Hall, 2011 by Zanele Muholi was sold in the Daydreaming: Photographs from the Goldstein Collection auction at Christies in New York in April 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,695.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zanele Muholi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alakhe in December last year with an auction result of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 39,827.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lungile Cleo Dladla, KwaThema Community Hall, 2011 von Zanele Muholi wurde im April 2019 in der Auktion Daydreaming: Photographs from the Goldstein Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.695,83) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zanele Muholi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alakhe im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 39.827,68).
