Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year China Guardian held the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Deux Cimes(Painted In 1952-1953) by Zao Wou-Ki. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 8,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 9,510,000.00 (€ 1,150,054.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zao Wou-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 29.09.64. in May last year with an auction result of HKD 278,000,000.00 (€ 33,004,566.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte China Guardian die Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deux Cimes(Painted In 1952-1953) von Zao Wou-Ki zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000.000,00 – 15.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 9.510.000,00 (€ 1.150.054,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zao Wou-Ki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 29.09.64. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 278.000.000,00 (€ 33.004.566,21).
