Christoph Pauschenwein’s Planets would have traveled to London for the first time in May 2026: At the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead, the artist was set to present seven works from his series, which has already been exhibited internationally. Participation in the fair had to be canceled at the last minute. Pauschenwein’s digital artworks combine natural and unnatural qualities and are in a state of constant flux. Drawing on a deep fascination with nature, Pauschenwein creates his unusual, hair-like celestial bodies, which are surrounded by a mysterious aura and raise questions about reality and illusion. »With these objects, I want to give the viewer the opportunity to immerse themselves in a positive, different world and provide a basis for constructive discussions«, the artist says of the Planets. The AAF Hampstead, featuring over 100 galleries, opens on May 6 and runs through May 10.

For Pauschenwein, human creativity and artisanal processes are of particular importance, which is why he avoids the use of AI in his digital work. His body of work also includes analog abstract paintings and naturalistic oil and acrylic paintings. In some cases, the latter serve as the basis for the abstractions he subsequently develops. Pauschenwein, who worked for many years as a graphic designer, is fascinated by the infinite creative possibilities offered by these two art forms, which he juxtaposes. His works convey the dynamics of our society, where nature and technology converge. The artist presents works, for example, printed on aluminum with a butler finish, which strongly reflects incoming light and thus gives the Planets an intense glow.Art.Salon
