In dialog with Joseph Beuys: Naama Tsabar

Art you can touch: In her first solo museum show in Germany, Naama Tsabar presents sculptures and installations that can be played by the public like instruments. The exhibition, which is in dialog with works by Joseph Beuys, can be seen from March 22 at the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin.

Sculpture, music, performance and architecture are combined to create new works of art: Naama Tsabar (*1982) is an installation and performance artist based in New York. Her artworks explore the power of sound, which can sometimes be violent, as Tsabar describes. The audience can experience this through performances or become performers themselves: Tsabar developed a music performance with female and non-binary musicians from Berlin and New York especially for the exhibition. The artworks are also intended as interactive works. The audience can operate them like instruments and fill the exhibition spaces with individual sound interludes. The Naama Tsabar exhibition is the artist's first solo museum show in Germany. It runs from March 22 to September 22 at the Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart in Berlin.

Naama Tsabar refers to Joseph Beuys (1921-1986) with her sound art works and the use of felt. His works from the museum's collection will be shown in parallel in the Kleihueshalle at the Hamburger Bahnhof and thus enter into a dialog with Tsabar's works. The exhibition is the first in a series of presentations by contemporary artists dealing with Beuys' oeuvre.Art.Salon
