Water as a symbol of an ever-changing world: Doris Heidenberger's abstract seascapes are inspired by unique natural light moods and the atmospheric interplay of colors. At the same time, her paintings are inner landscapes; her subjective view and her life experiences transform the landscapes into poetic spaces in which the quiet grandeur of nature confronts society's urge to optimize. Doris Heidenberger spent her childhood in the »Blue Land« in Upper Bavaria, which is »sometimes characterized by an incredible blue at dusk«, as she describes. This is where the artist is presenting her solo exhibition Viel Luft nach oben (A lot of air upwards) at Ausstellwerk Huglfing. Doris Heidenberger's title alludes to the low-lying horizons in her paintings, which draw the eye to the infinity of the sky. The vernissage will take place on June 27 at 7 p.m., after which the exhibition will be on display on Saturdays and Sundays until July 6. On June 29 at 3 pm, Doris Heidenberger will provide deeper insights into her work during an artist talk.

The Munich-based artist, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, is interested in the imperfect, which finds expression in abstract landscapes. Doris Heidenberger's pictures are a reminder of the great connections between the world and life, which are in danger of being forgotten in the focus on technical progress. Her works visualize the flow of life energy, influenced by Doris Heidenberger's studies of sinology, among other things, and her decades-long engagement with Chinese painting and philosophy. Contrary to what one might expect, the basis for a painting is not a specific landscape, but a mood or an inner image, which is combined with the subjective view of a landscape. Her inner and outer landscapes are then created layer by layer in a dynamic process.
