Her paintings are bundles of color, applied in countless layers, they create a glow from within: Anne Espenkott's luminous field paintings are created in labor-intensive, lengthy processes in which she brings out the depth and pure radiance of the selected colors. Without relying on narrative or figurative elements, Espenkott invites the viewer to consciously and extensively experience the effects of color. In this way, she develops independent color spaces with the aim of triggering feelings of well-being, strength and joy in the viewer. A large selection of her works can be seen from May 3 to July 19 in her solo exhibition Leuchtwerke at the Pop-up Gallery in Münster.

Anne Espenkott, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, has been working as a visual artist in Münster for around 30 years. Real living and working spaces, colored by changing incidence of light, inspire her paintings. She has made a gradual transition from abstract expressionism to her current color field painting, in which she explores the understanding of profound beauty and gives it visible expression.
