Outstanding portraits will once again be presented at the National Portrait Gallery in London from July 10: The Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award 2024 exhibition will showcase 50 works of art. The winners of the awards will be announced on July 9.

The competition is open to artists from all over the world who are at least 18 years old. The jury of the Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award 2024 received almost 1,650 entries from 62 countries, from which they selected 50 for the exhibition. This is the 42nd time that the award ceremony and subsequent exhibition has taken place, which can once again be viewed at the National Portrait Gallery in London. The prestigious prize is regarded as one of the most important portrait awards in the world. The award ceremony will take place on July 9, with the exhibition running from July 10 to October 27.

Three paintings have been shortlisted for the prize and will take 1st to 3rd place. The winner will receive 35,000 British pounds, the runner-up 12,000 and the third 10,000. The shortlist includes the three British artists Isabella Watling, Antony Williams and Catherine Chambers. In addition, the Young Artist Award, worth 9,000 pounds, will be presented to an artist aged between 18 and 30. However, if artists of this age are shortlisted for the main prize, they will be excluded from the Young Artist Award, so that one person can win a maximum of one prize.Art.Salon
