In October last year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Qing ci Song (Celadon Song) by Adriana Varejão. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 529,200.00 (€ 616,512.14), 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriana Varejão - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II), which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,301,892.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Qing ci Song (Celadon Song) von Adriana Varejão zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 529.200,00 (€ 616.512,14) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Adriana Varejão mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II) beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für GBP 1.105.250,00 (€ 1.301.892,03) versteigert wurde.
