In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Penari Bali (Balinese Dancer) by Affandi. The auction ended at the price of HKD 2,000,000.00 (€ 231,962.97), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Affandi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Borobudur And The Sun in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 9,800,000.00 (€ 1,153,256.70).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Penari Bali (Balinese Dancer) von Affandi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 2.000.000,00 (€ 231.962,97) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Affandi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Borobudur And The Sun im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.800.000,00 (€ 1.153.256,70).
