The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,201.16), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Marquet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Plage De Sainte-Adresse in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,217,250.00 (€ 1,538,644.81).

Die Arbeit Le port dans l'orage, Alger von Albert Marquet wurde im Juni 2010 in der Auktion Impressionist/Modern Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.201,16) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Marquet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Plage De Sainte-Adresse im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.217.250,00 (€ 1.538.644,81).
