In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work French rebecca Et Eliézer sold for USD 161,000.00 (€ 118,330.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexandre Cabanel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Birth of Venus in October 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 844,550.15).
