Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work Infantin (Spanierin) by Alexej von Jawlensky. The price achieved of GBP 3,189,000.00 (€ 3,631,676.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexej von Jawlensky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Schokko (Schokko Mit Tellerhut) Schokko (Schokko With Wide-Brimmed Hat), which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 9,428,500.00 (€ 12,332,107.99).
