Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Play for Today by Allen Jones. The price achieved of GBP 51,200.00 (€ 58,791.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Allen Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hatstand, Table And Chair (I) Hatstand (Ii) Table (Iii) Chair in February 2013 with an auction result of GBP 2,169,250.00 (€ 2,519,706.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Play for Today von Allen Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 51.200,00 (€ 58.791,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Allen Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hatstand, Table And Chair (I) Hatstand (Ii) Table (Iii) Chair im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.169.250,00 (€ 2.519.706,86).
