The work Paysage du Var by André Lhote was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Bonhams in London in October last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,950.00 (€ 26,736.50), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Lhote achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar) in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,729,000.00 (€ 1,857,979.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Paysage du Var von André Lhote wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 22.950,00 (€ 26.736,50) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von André Lhote erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.729.000,00 (€ 1.857.979,30).
