Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pont de cargo (A bord de la Marsa) by André Lhote was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in February 2016. The price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 40,043.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Lhote achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar) in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,729,000.00 (€ 1,857,979.30).

Die Arbeit Pont de cargo (A bord de la Marsa) von André Lhote wurde im Februar 2016 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 40.043,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von André Lhote erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.729.000,00 (€ 1.857.979,30).
