Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by André Masson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2018. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work La belle Italienne sold for USD 1,032,500.00 (€ 884,747.22) - well above the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by André Masson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gradiva, which sold at auction in December 2010 for EUR 2,360,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von André Masson erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit La belle Italienne für USD 1.032.500,00 (€ 884.747,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von André Masson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gradiva beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für EUR 2.360.750,00 versteigert wurde.
