Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dollar Sign by Andy Warhol was auctioned at Christies in worldwide in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 46,000,000.00 – 66,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 50,650,000.00 (€ 5,342,477.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dollar Sign von Andy Warhol kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in worldwide zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 46.000.000,00 – 66.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 50.650.000,00 (€ 5.342.477,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
