Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June 2021. In the 20th/21st Century: Collection Francis Gross auction, the work Roy Lichtenstein sold for EUR 212,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
