Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,053.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anton Otto Fischer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Armada, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 10,575.00 (€ 12,461.70).

Die Arbeit Man overboard von Anton Otto Fischer kam im Januar 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.053,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Anton Otto Fischer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Great Armada beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 10.575,00 (€ 12.461,70) versteigert wurde.
