Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Gia in Fire Island, NY, 'Italian Vogue', 1980 by Arthur Elgort. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,661.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Elgort have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kate Moss à la Brasserie Lipp, Paris, pour Italian Vogue, septembre 1993 in November 2018 with an auction result of EUR 25,000.00.

Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gia in Fire Island, NY, 'Italian Vogue', 1980 von Arthur Elgort zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.661,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Elgort auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kate Moss à la Brasserie Lipp, Paris, pour Italian Vogue, septembre 1993 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 25.000,00.
