Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Bride on the Shoalhaven by Arthur Boyd. The price achieved of AUD 33,460.00 (€ 20,390.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Boyd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Man Ploughing A Field in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 660,000.00 (€ 405,821.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bride on the Shoalhaven von Arthur Boyd zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 33.460,00 (€ 20.390,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Boyd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Man Ploughing A Field im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 660.000,00 (€ 405.821,75).
