Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Original illustration for unidentified title (Two men fighting on a river bank) by Arthur Rackham was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,520.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Rackham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Andromeda in September last year with an auction result of GBP 88,500.00 (€ 100,721.56).

Die Arbeit Original illustration for unidentified title (Two men fighting on a river bank) von Arthur Rackham kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.820,00 (€ 10.520,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Rackham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Andromeda im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 88.500,00 (€ 100.721,56).
