Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ithaca Suicide Drawing by Banks Violette was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2018. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,930.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Banks Violette achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work burnout (fadeaway), vol.1 in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 205,250.00 (€ 259,442.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ithaca Suicide Drawing von Banks Violette kam im April 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.930,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Banks Violette erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit burnout (fadeaway), vol.1 im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 205.250,00 (€ 259.442,88).
