Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled (Time is Money) by Barbara Kruger. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,429,000.00 (€ 401,500.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barbara Kruger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Your Manias Become Science), which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 1,170,000.00 (€ 1,036,590.77).
