Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Marilyn Monroe (From the Last Sitting)", 1962. by Bert Stern was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in November 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 17,000.00 (€ 1,735.68). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bert Stern achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,251.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Marilyn Monroe (From the Last Sitting)", 1962. von Bert Stern im November 2016 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 17.000,00 (€ 1.735,68) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bert Stern erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 105.251,81).
