Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Anima by Bill Viola was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 154,550.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bill Viola - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eternal Return, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).
