Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elements IV by Brice Marden was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 7,001,800.00 (€ 6,524,834.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brice Marden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 11 (to Léger), which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 16,999,000.00 (€ 15,060,689.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Elements IV von Brice Marden kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.001.800,00 (€ 6.524.834,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000.000,00 – 8.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Brice Marden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 11 (to Léger) beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 16.999.000,00 (€ 15.060.689,29) versteigert wurde.
