Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Brice Marden could be acquired at Christies in New York in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Masterpieces from the S.I. Newhouse Collection auction, the work Small Point changed hands for USD 1,197,000.00 (€ 1,123,521.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brice Marden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 11 (to Léger) in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 16,999,000.00 (€ 15,060,689.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Brice Marden konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Masterpieces from the S.I. Newhouse Collection wechselte die Arbeit Small Point für USD 1.197.000,00 (€ 1.123.521,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Brice Marden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 11 (to Léger) im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.999.000,00 (€ 15.060.689,29).
