Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Old playfellows by Briton Rivière was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 67,500.00 (€ 75,682.34). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Briton Rivière - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Requiescat, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 111,150.00 (€ 162,275.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Old playfellows von Briton Rivière kam im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 67.500,00 (€ 75.682,34) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Briton Rivière mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Requiescat beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 111.150,00 (€ 162.275,49) versteigert wurde.
