Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (from 'The Cafeteria') by Bruce Davidson was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,732.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bruce Davidson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circus Dwarf, Palisades, NJ in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 21,185.49).
