Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child by Charles White. The price achieved of USD 800,000.00 (€ 679,463.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ye Shall Inherit The Earth, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 1,760,000.00 (€ 1,597,241.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child von Charles White zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 800.000,00 (€ 679.463,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 700.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles White mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ye Shall Inherit The Earth beobachtet, die im November 2019 für USD 1.760.000,00 (€ 1.597.241,13) versteigert wurde.
