Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Study for 'The Contribution of the Negro to Democracy in America' by Charles White. Here, the upper estimate of USD 800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 856,800.00 (€ 798,434.44). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ye Shall Inherit The Earth, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 1,760,000.00 (€ 1,597,241.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
