Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Il Ponte held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Over the River (Project for Arkansas river, State of Colorado) by Christo. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 26,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 28,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Il Ponte die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Over the River (Project for Arkansas river, State of Colorado) von Christo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 26.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 28.000,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500,00.
