Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Les meules à Giverny by Claude Monet was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Evening Sale Including Property from the John C. Whitehead Collection auction at Christies in New York in May 2015. The price achieved of USD 16,405,000.00 (€ 14,921,775.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Claude Monet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meules in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 110,747,000.00 (€ 99,333,572.52).

Die Arbeit Les meules à Giverny von Claude Monet wurde im Mai 2015 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Evening Sale Including Property from the John C. Whitehead Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.405.000,00 (€ 14.921.775,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00 angegeben worden.
