This artwork by Colin Davidson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2020. In the Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit auction, the work Arctic Monkeys: Fireside (Portrait Of Paul Muldoon) sold for GBP 21,420.00 (€ 23,619.03) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Colin Davidson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Café Window (Piccadilly) sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 45,523.29).
