Auction result well in line with expectations
The work First Horse by Elisabeth Frink was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 63,900.00 (€ 74,368.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elisabeth Frink achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seated Man in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,082,500.00 (€ 1,352,531.96).
