Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Covenant by Damien Hirst was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Evening Sale Part II auction at Phillips in New York in November this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 952,500.00 (€ 873,212.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damien Hirst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lullaby Spring in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,652,000.00 (€ 14,323,082.54).
