This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2017. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Flowers sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,599.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hockney erzielte im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Flowers für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.599,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
