Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Christies in London held the auction Contemporary Edition: London, which included the work Double Cheeseburger End of the World Giveaway by David Shrigley. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,866.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Shrigley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (It's OK) in March last year with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,754.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Contemporary Edition: London durch, in der auch die Arbeit Double Cheeseburger End of the World Giveaway von David Shrigley zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.866,99) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Shrigley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (It's OK) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.754,80).
