This artwork by Don McCullin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2010. In the Photographs auction, the work Turkish Cypriot sprinting from a cinema door under fire, Limassol, Cyprus, 1964 sold for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,838.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Don McCullin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shell-shocked US Marine, The Battle of Hue in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,298.50).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Don McCullin erzielte im November 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Turkish Cypriot sprinting from a cinema door under fire, Limassol, Cyprus, 1964 für GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.838,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Don McCullin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shell-shocked US Marine, The Battle of Hue im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.298,50).
