Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Rival supplicants by Dorothy Tennant. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,115.00 (€ 2,946.73), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dorothy Tennant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bathers, which sold at auction in April 2006 for USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,406.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rival supplicants von Dorothy Tennant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 2.946,73) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Dorothy Tennant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bathers beobachtet, die im April 2006 für USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.406,84) versteigert wurde.
