Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection, which included the work Natacha Rambova, 1916 by Edward Weston. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,195.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Weston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Natacha Rambova, 1916 von Edward Weston zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.195,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Weston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.033.530,32).
